Obituary For Ada Berg

Ada Berg passed away quickly at Points West Living on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at the age of 86 years.

She lived happily on the family farm from the age of 3 to 85, and most recently was residing at Points West Living.

During her early years, she helped her Mom and Dad farming with horses. After marring Lyle in 1952, she continued to work on the farm. To make “ends meet” she cooked in log camps in the winters and then went on to cook at the QEII Hospital. After these jobs, she drove school bus for many years and worked at the Bezanson School as secretary.

Ada was always busy! She loved farming the most but always enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking. Nobody left Ada’s kitchen without a homemade meal or snack.

She will be sadly missed by Lyle, her husband of 65 years; her daughter Valerie (Greg) Durda; granddaughter Megan Nelson; great-granddaughter Alexandra; sisters: Gloria Lawrance and Eileen Kyle; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her infant brother William in 1936, father Henry in 1949, sister Annie Menard in 1985, grandson Matthew Durda in 1991, and mother Annie in 1992.

Funeral Liturgy will be held Monday, November 13, 2017, at 11:00am, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave). Interment at the Grande Prairie Cemetery. Luncheon to follow at Oliver’s Funeral Home.

Memorial donations may be made to Ronald McDonald House (7726 107 St. Edmonton, AB. T6E 4K3)
