Obituary For Timothy Raye Way

Timothy Raye Way, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of Edmonton, AB, passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at the QEII Hospital, at the age of 57 years.

Timothy was born on February 10, 1964, at the Royal Alexander Hospital in Edmonton, AB. He was raised in Edmonton, and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Theology in 1988 from Vanguard College. He obtained his Management Studies Diploma in 2000, from Grant MacEwan University, and various other financial planning/management courses in the following years. Timothy was a financial advisor most recently with Servus Credit Union. He also served as an EMT and a Pastor.

He cared deeply for his faith and his family. Those were two things that, if anyone met Tim, even for a short time, they would surely hear about them. Tim also cared deeply for others, and would not pass up an opportunity to pray for them, or to speak truth into their lives. He made blessing others a priority, and would frequently recite the Number 6:24-26 blessing. Tim was diligent in pursuing excellence in every area of his life: learning about and teaching the deeper principles of his Christian faith, helping his clients succeed, learning how to surf in his 50s, and cooking new and delicious meals for friends and family (he never made anything exactly the same way twice). Tim left a legacy of diligence and genuine care for all those who knew him. He will be greatly missed.

Tim enjoyed cooking, grocery shopping, scuba diving, snorkelling, surfing, photography, travelling, Gideons Bible Ministry, Family Foundations International Counselling, prayer meetings, sharing the gospel, music, playing musical instruments, and acting.

Tim will be sadly missed by his wife Patricia Way (nee Stein), his children: Jonathan (Raina) Way, Richard Way, and Jeremiah Way, as well as his mother Pauline Niemi.

He was predeceased by his father Paul Way.

A Viewing will be held on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at 12:00pm, at the Victory Church (7702 100 St). A Funeral Service will follow.

A link will be available 15 minutes prior to the service on Timothy’s obituary on Oliver’s Funeral Home Website.

The Lord spoke to Moses, saying: Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, Thus you shall bless the Israelites: You shall say to them, The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace. So they shall put my name on the Israelites, and I will bless them.
~ Numbers 6:22-27

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
~ John 3:16

  • My husband Ian knew Tim in his capacity as a financial consultant with Servus Credit Union. We came to know Tim as a friendly, caring & knowledgeable man. He took the time to get to know us. We had lots of conversations over the years about life & family. He was very proud of his sons and talked about their life plans and his hopes for them. The last time we talked to Tim in August, he said he was settling into retirement and wanted to make sure we were connected to Ivan at Credit Union. He sounded happy & relaxed. Please accept our condolences, we're so sorry for your loss.
